Alright, alright. I know, I’m a bad blogger. I’m sorry. I have no excuses, or reasons….just simply that I’m LAZY!!! And that is all.
SO without any further ado…..let’s catch up friends!
First.
Belize. This trip was UH MAZING!!!!!!!!! We spent the first week in the jungle. Yes. Kari stayed in a jungle. With bugs, and monkeys, and who knows what else. No electricity, or phone service, or internet, for a whole 6 days!!! And yes, I survived.
Day 1.
We arrived at Caves Branch, after a long flight and what seemed like an even longer drive (through Belize where there are NO traffic laws. The man driving our big ole’ van said that stop signs are for people with good eyes, and speed limits, well they are just a suggestion…that was COMFORTING) We got there later than we expected. I can’t remember if it was because of a delayed flight, or if we were just slow. Either way, it was late, and all 20 somethin of us, we were tired. They had food ready for us, so we ate and then they took us to our TREE HOUSES. Yes, we stayed in a house in the trees. In fact, I wouldn’t even call it a house. It had a door, but I think it was just for decoration because there was really no roof where the door was, and once you went through the door, it was all screens. No actual walls. SO as I laid in bed, I listened to howler monkeys and who knows what else that was out in the deep dark forest…that I was in the middle of.
